As a principal with Avant Garde Global Communications, Vera helps companies by challenging existing ideas, processes and forms to transform content from something basic into a creative product that puts them at the forefront of their industry. For Hidenet, Vera leads the team of global reporters in gathering the latest price and production data. She also writes several of the weekly reports, including the company's premiere US Weekly and US Daily Reports.
Most people wouldn't likely consider television a formative tool in their basic education - but Vera does. In fact, that's where she learned to speak English. Vera has turned her early years of struggling to speak English into a 25-year career as a prolific communicator. She earned a degree in journalism and Russian, launching her career working for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C., London, and the Middle East. She transitioned into higher education, serving as assistant director of University Relations at the University of Iowa. In New York, she was director of communications at Albany Law School before focusing on freelance assignments and other creative pursuits. Vera holds a BA in Journalism with a Russian minor from Indiana University and an associate degree in pastry from Schenectady County Community College.
